About Terry Thompson

I spent most of my life in the San Francisco Bay Area, moving to Taos, New Mexico, in 2001. Besides shooting subjects that capture the spirit and light of this beautiful region, I like to travel to my favorite destinations in the West and around the country.

I started shooting 35mm in 1980 doing underwater and topside production stills for Al Giddings, when I worked as his producer and business associate. My years of managing his film, video, and still photography library combined with my producing roles on feature films, documentaries, and TV commercials have been instrumental in developing my sense of color, a graphic style and presentation of high quality images.

My current passion in photography is shooting images suited for corporate, healthcare, hospitality and residential decor especially in the wide panoramic format. I also shoot a great deal of imagery for licensing as stock and also do assignment work. I find the panoramic format very challenging to shoot and visually stimulating as it more closely represents what our field of vision sees.
